Barbie Historian Timothy Ochoa is to go to guy for all things dolly. He has an extensive knowledge of the history of Barbie and friends, their clothing and accessories as well as other like minded dolls. We are so grateful to have him aboard as a contributor and asked him a few questions.

How did you get your amazing talent of documenting all items “dolly”?

It started by reading everything I could get my hands on pertaining to a doll I would get interested in. Reference books, periodicals, web-sites, forums, message boards, and dolly friends. Eventually, I just became really good at it. I know almost everything about most 11 1/2 - 12 1/2 inch fashion dolls from 1959 - now

Do you have knowledge in all dolly areas including clothing, accessories, furniture, dolls?

Pretty much. If the doll line included extra fashions, structures, and other accessories, I make it a point to familiarize myself with those items

Do you have a system for storing all this information?

I have most info in reference books and magazines, but I bookmark websites and save photos as well. It really comes in handy!

What is one item in Barbie world (clothes, accessories or anything in her world) that is most memorable to you or really blew you away?

I can honestly say it's all the different variations and foreign items available. I'm always discovering new items I've never seen or heard of before! Just recently, I've seen an '80's version of the popular Barbie Fashion Plaza. I've never heard of it until now! Things like that always blow me away!
